Social Studies
History, the Social Sciences, and other Humanities courses are taught on a rotating basis to all Groups. Offerings are based on both student interests and the Massachusetts Humanities/Social Studies frameworks. No matter the course content however, all classes are taught through an active examination and responsive approach to history. Courses are designed using a multi-modal approach to enable our students to not only learn, but fully engage with the social sciences from a variety of perspectives, life stories, and experiences. This invites them to share their own experiences within the context of historical and current events. Courses have included:
- World Food & Cultures
- Origins of the American Dream
- US History
- Facing History and Ourselves
- Issues in Modern World History
- Ancient History
- The Ethics of World Performance and Ritual
- World Religions
- Human Heritage: Civilization
